Some companies like to advertise their peak wattage, but peak wattage not really a good indication of its performance under realistic conditions. That?s why you need to look for a PSU that can sprint fast when needed, but can also cover long distances without tiring.

When it comes to PSUs, bigger is better. In general, weight equals the number of components and how well they were built. Heavier means a thicker metal housing, sturdier components, well-insulated wires, better soldering and extra circuit protection. So a heavy box is a good thing. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, such as the 80 Plus Platinum?, which is designed to be lightweight. But that?s different.
