AMD decided to cut the price of its Radeon HD 6950 1GB and 2GB models to US $259 and US $269-$289. In addition to these two, AMD has also cut the price of its Radeon HD 6870 card to US $219. In Europe these prices will range from €189.99 for the HD 6870, €225 for the Radeon HD 6950 1GB and €239.99 for the Radeon HD 6950 2GB card.

AMD will release its new 11.1a Catalyst driver tomorrow that should improve performance of its Radeon HD 6800 and HD 6900 series graphics cards. According to our info, the improvement should go as high as 30 percent in some cases.
