Manju Hegde, Nvidia VP for PhsyX and CUDA Marketing and previously CEO and co-founder of PhysX inventor Ageia prior to its Nvidia buyout, has gone to AMD.
While the tech industry often sees people move back and forth between rival companies, this is potentially a big win for AMD, who are in need of some big hitters to convince industry bods to adopt its "open" physics and GPGPU technologies.
We doubt it will be a huge hit to Nvidia - given the solid momentum both CUDA and PhysX has already - but it could be a good move for AMD as its competing technologies such as OpenCL and Stream computing don't have the same visibility in the consumer marketplace
AMD has yet to confirm exactly what role he'll be taking at the company.
