LGA 775's shine has faded following the release of the first Nehalem processors but the old platform is still going strong and will actually get a small update next month with the release of the Core 2 Quad Q9500. Set for a January 17 release, the 45nm quad-core is clocked at 2.83 GHz, same as the Q9500, has a FSB of 1333 MHz and 6MB of shared L2 cache.
The Q9500 will replace the 2.66 GHz Q9400 at the $183 price point.
