Core 2 Duo E8700 has been listed at Intels product page for a while, as the top processor in the Wolfdale based Core 2 Duo family, but the availability and pricing remain mysterious.
Recently, a XtremeSystems forum member claims he has already received a Core 2 Duo E8700 from Intels chip factory in Malaysia, though what he had ordered was a QX9650.
The specs have been confirmed as well: 3.5GHz, 6MB of L2 cache, FSB1333, and a TDP of 60W. Considering the retail version has been ready, I guess it wont be long before it becomes available actually.
