NVIDIAs Fermi Products Delayed to 2010

Thereve been reports circulating around the internet that NVIDIAs next-generation flagship Fermi-G300 GPU wont be commercially available until next year, and NVIDIA has just officially confirmed about this.
NVIDIAs CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said during quarterly conference call that the company would only ramp up production of Fermi in the companys first quarter of fiscal year 2011 which begins on January 26th and ends on April 26th. So, just dont expect the Fermi-based graphics cards to be shipping in calendar 2009.
Next year it is going to be an interesting first quarter because, in fact, we will need more wafers than ever in Q1. The reason for that is because - and I mean more 40nm wafers than ever in Q1 - we are fully ramping Fermi for three different product lines: GeForce, Quadro and Tesla, said Jen-Hsun Huang.
Besides, NVIDIA will also ramp up manufacturing of its next-generation core-logic chipset for Intel Core 2 processors and other products.
We will be fully ramping MCP89. We will be fully ramping Tegra. Not to mention the 40nm products that we currently have that are fully ramped up, and so I am expecting Q1 to be a pretty exciting quarter for us because we just have so many new products, added Mr. Huang.

สรุปคือ Fermi โดนเลื่อนไปอีกประมาณ1ปีถึงจะออกมาวางตลาดให้ได้ชมแบบเต็มๆตาและกำลังเร่งผลิตใน Q1 2010
ผลิตเสร็จพร้อมเปิดตัวเป็นๆน่าจะ Q2 (หลังเมษายน 2010) กำหนดวางจำหน่ายก็ยังไม่แน่นอนแต่ที่แน่ๆคือไม่ใช่ปี 2009 ชัวร์
แสดงว่าข่าวลือที่ว่า การผลิตมีปัญหานั้นเป็นเรื่องจริง ถ้า Fermi ช้าขนาดนี้ ATI กำลังจะหนีไป 28nm แล้ว
พร้อมกับ Series 6 ทาง nVIDIA เลยหันมาทำ chipset เพิ่มเติมให้ Tegra แทน
งานนี้ผมว่าเรื่อง ATI ลดราคาคงจะยากแล้วล่ะครับ
ส่วนทาง ATI ก็มีข้อมูลว่าจะหยุดการผลิต series 4 และปล่อย Series 5 ออกมาแทน
