Seagate releases worlds first SATA 6Gb/s 2TB drive

Seagate launches first SATA 6Gb/s 2TB high-performance hard drive,named Barracuda XT,mainly targeted at media developer and enthusiasts.


3.5-inch drive features four 500GB platters with spindle speed of 7200rpm. Barracuda XT has 64MB of cache and have rated MTBF at 750,000 hours with sustained transfer rates of up to 140 MB/s.It has average idle power consumption of 6.39W.Compared to previous Barracuda LP series,the new hard drive suppports SATA 6Gbps and doubles cache.


Barracuda XT costs $299 and are backed by a five-year warranty.
