Already out with two 2TB hard drives - the Caviar Green WD20EADS, and RE4-GP WD2002FYPS, Western Digital is gearing up to introduce another model with that amount of capacity, one part of the high-performance desktop line-up known as Caviar Black. Hyped up a bit in Japan, the upcoming 2TB drive will be based on the WD2002FYPS and feature a working speed of 7200 RPM, 64MB of buffer memory, double that of the 1TB Caviar Black, two processors for top notch performance, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, and probably even some energy-saving technologies so make it cut down on power usage.
The 2TB Caviar Black will likely arrive in the next few weeks and cost in excess of $300.
