DX4 OverDrives typically have qualities different from standard 486s of the same speed. These include built-in voltage regulators, different pin-outs, write-back cache instead of write-through cache, built-in heatsinks, and fanless operation.

Also will upgrade DX-66 systems to a stable 100 mhz.
This is probably an overclock of the overdrive itself.
Comment by Hugh Russell (hugtheslug[at]yahoo.co.uk):
Forgot to add, 486 fan was attached to heatsink for extra cooling and stability.
Comment by Johann (lord80james2003[at]yahoo.com):
The Intel DX4ODP75 was designed for changing 25 MHz 486 systems to run at 75 MHz.
BUT. The v1.1 allowed 33 MHz systems to run at 100 MHz. The first version (1.0) could only bring the speed of a 33 MHz system up to ~83 MHz.
