Fallout 4 beta update 1.9 is now live on Steam

The beta improves mod browsing and sets the stage for the forthcoming High Resolution Pack.

The Fallout 4 1.9 update is now available as a beta on Steam. The update adds support for the High Resolution Texture Pack revealed yesterday, makes a few fixes, and adds a number of new features that will make life easier for wasteland warriors who like to play with mods.

AMD Video Card Driver Performance Review - Fine Wine?

The Bottom Line

AMD claimed its new AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition would net between 4-8% performance increases depending on the game. We can say this is pretty much on the money, at 5-6% in the games we tested AMD?s claims seem valid. That means both the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X and AMD Radeon RX 480 have received a cumulative performance upgrade via drivers, but it is quite small in the grand scheme of performance.

Think of it this way, at 60 FPS a 5% advantage is only maybe 3 FPS? Free performance is great, we?ll take all we can get, but anything under 10% is impossible to notice in the real-world while gaming. This goes to show a couple of important facts. Drivers are not going to be the miracle answer to a video card?s performance over time. When a video card is launched, that launch performance is probably within 10% of where it is going to end up in terms of cumulative performance updates, at least as far as AMD GPUs go.

This is good because on the one hand you are getting most of the potential out of the video card from the start. On the other hand, if you aren?t happy with that performance, then there isn?t much hope (at least as far as our testing has proven) that the performance profile of the video card will vastly improve over time.

Is this Fine Wine? That of course is very subjective and up to your interpretation.

Battlefield 1 Post processing

Post processing in many games tends to be undemanding, but it all depends on what the game engine is doing.
In the case of Battlefield 1, post process quality ends up being the second most demanding setting next to lighting,
and turning it to low improved performance by nearly 15 percent.
I couldn't tell just looking at the game while running what was changed,
but after grabbing a couple of screenshots, this appears to include reflections.
That explains both the high impact and negligible change in image quality,
so turn this down as one of the first options if you want higher framerates.

แต่หลังจาก Patch มหาประลัย ผลทดสอบของผม จาก Post processing Medium ไป Ultra
performance drop ไป ประมาณ 25% โดยที่ก็เหมือนที่เขาว่า ภาพไม่ได้ดูแตกต่างเลย
และถ้าเทสจาก PP low ไป Ultra คงโดนไป 30% เท่ากับว่า Frame Drop เป็น 2 เท่า
ก็โดนตรงนี้นะ
Ultra Preset / medium Post Processing

สรุปคือ เราก็ปรับ Ultra Preset และ Post Processing ลดลงมาเป็น Medium เท่านั้นเอง
ภาพเหมื่อนๆเดิม ทำเท่านี้ GTX 960 ได้ 60-70 FPS
