Right off the bat, the GTX 1080 offers 2560 CUDA cores, just a tad lower than the GTX 980Ti. The use of 16nm FinFET and Pascal however, allow for unprecedented stock clocks. The base clock is an insane 1607Mhz while boost allows that to go up to 1733Mhz. Under LN2, the card even breaches the 2GHz barrier with ease. The card is fed by 8GB of GDDR5X at 10Gbps over a 256bit bus for 320GB/s of bandwidth.

Due to the new architecture and process, TDP is a relatively low 180W, well under what the GTX 980Ti pulls. This means a single 8pin PCIe power connector is enough to provide all the juice. Display connectivity is provided by DP 1.4, HDMI 2.0b and DL-DVI. This all fits in a relatively small 10.5? long and 4.376? package across two slots. Overall, the GTX 1080 is truly a generation leap that we haven?t expected over the current lineup.
