AMD Aware of Radeon Software Causing GPUs to Overheat, Fix on Monday

AMD issued a statement moments ago pertaining to the Radeon Software (see also: Radeon Settings, Crimson, former Catalyst) fan speed configuration causing GPU overheating issues. Some users have reported GPU death resultant of excessive thermals, which correlate with inadequately low fan speeds for the current heat generation.

ผมก้เป้นคับ เล่นเกมหนักๆๆ fanspeed ไม่เพิ่ม gpu ความร้อนขึ้นไป 90 c รีบปิดเกมทันที รอตัว hotfix วันนี้

แต่ละคนเล่นเกมกับลงโปรแกรมแล้วก็คอนฟิกต่าง ๆ ไม่เหมือนกันน่ะครับ บางคนอาจจะไม่เจอปัญหาอะไรเลยก็ได้

ของผม Windows 10 อัพเดตล่าสุด Clean Install มา 5 รอบแล้วจนป่านนี้ฟังเพลงไปสักพักยังมีปัญหาเสียงค้างเป็น Dub Step อยู่เลย

ผมยังไม่เคยเจอเหมือนกันครับ ตอนนี้กำลังจะตัดสินใจซื้อวินโดวส์สิบโฮมแท้ fpp มาใช้

ลองตั้งรอบพัดลมเองไปพลางๆ ก่อน รอไดวเวอร์ออกมา ครับ

พอดีผม oc การ์ดจอไว้ เลยปรับรอบไว้

เจอปัญหาเรื่องความร้อนมาตั้งแต่ก่อนได้เวอร์ 15.7.1 ออกแล้วละ
อาการคือช่วงที่มีปัญหาพัดลมจะไม่ปรับรอบเพิ่มตามความร้อน ผลคือหม้อน้ำมีกลิ่นโชยออกมาเพราะร้อนจัด
ทางแก้แบบกำปั้นทุบดินคือเอาพัดลมแบบปรับรอบตามความร้อนได้มาแปะอัดหน้าหม้อน้ำเข้าไป 1 ตัว เอาเซ็นเซอร์วัดความร้อนแปะไว้บนฝาหม้อน้ำ
ส่วนพัดลมเดิมกลับหน้าเปลี่ยนเป็นดูดออกแทน เท่าที่ใช้งานมาก็ยังไม่เจอปัญหาเรื่องความร้อนขึ้นสูงและยังลดอุณภูมิการ์จอได้อีก 5-10C ด้วยครับ

ใช้ของอะไรหรอครับ น่าสนใจเอามาเล่นบ้าง

เป็นพัดลมรุ่นเก่าๆ ของ Thermaltake ที่ผมซื้อมาใช้เมื่อหลายปีที่แล้ว
ปรกติจะเอาไว้ใช้ในเคสจับคู่กับบอร์ดกิ้กกาบ้วยที่ถึงจะทนถึกแต่มักจะป่วยในเรื่องการปรับรอบพัดลมเลยใช้เจ้านี่แก้ขัดครับ

ของเก่า 15.11.1Beta ปรับพัดลม 100% พัดลงเงียบ ไม่มีเสียง
แต่พออัพ แล้วปรับพัดลม 100% มีเสียงพัดลมเฉยเลย สงสัยมันไปเพิ่มรอบพัดลมสูงสุดด้วย เลยต้องปรับอยู่ช่วง 65-70% แทน

Ps.ปกติตั้งพัดลมเองตลอดเลย ไม่เคยตั้ง Auto

AMD Crimson Software Might Cause locked fan RPM at 20% (overheats cards)

Yesterday the news broke that some users have reported that their AMD Radeon graphics cards have died, likely due to the new Crimson Driver software. AMD now acknowledges a software issue and is preparing a hotfix for a potentially serious fan-bug.

A small group of users have been claiming that the new driver locked their fans at low speeds (~20%) in certain conditions (overclocking), and as such during a hefty gaming session if the GPU isn't cooled enough, that can cause significant issues. AMD?s sub-reddit is full of posts from users claiming and reporting this.

It seems that the Crimson Software will lock your fan speed when resetting OverDrive settings. This means that PC gamers will have to turn it back on auto to prevent their graphics card overheating. AMD acknowledged this issue and claimed that it will release a hotfix tomorrow.

We are aware of low fan speed reports on select GPUs with Radeon Software Crimson Edition. We intend to publish a hotfix on Monday.

Modern graphics cards do have a protection mechanism for overheating but a handful of users have already reported that their cards have died. AMD up-to this moment has not confirmed the issue with a specific answer or response other then the tweet we just posted.

For the time being we'd recommend you make a MSI Afterburner custom fan profile system to bypass this issue as a simple solve.
