วันนี้ได้รับ กล่องพัสดุ ที่ข้ามน้ำข้ามทะเลมาครับ


แกะกล่องออกมาแล้ว มันคือ Phenom II X4 970 BE Rev.E0 นั้นเอง พี่น้องร่วมสาบาน ตะกูล X6 ... สังเกตุที่ Stepping codes จะตรงกับ X6 เลยครับ ... มีเขียนติดด้วย ลายแทงไฟเลี้ยง ครับ 555+




จับใส่ ASROCK มีอาการ เปิดติดล้างไม่ติดบ้าง สงสัย จะไม่เข้ากันค่อยแก้ทีหลัง เลย ไปยัดลง Biostar แล้วลองลุ้นหวย .... ปรากฏว่า ไม่ถูกหวยครับ เปิด 6 หัวไม่ได้ เปิดไม่ติดเลย แต่ก็ได้ cpu ที่ค่อนข้างกินไฟน้อยๆ มาแทน ครับ มาลองใช้ 4 หัวแท้ๆ สักทีผม หลังจากเป็นพวกกลายร่าง เทียม มานานพอสมควร

ลองกันเบาๆ เพราะไม่มี ซิงค์อะไรเลยครับตอนนี้ ใช้ ซิงค์ สต๊อก AMD มาเล่น ไฟเดิม ราวๆ 1.365V ครับ ผมลองลดไฟมาที่ 1.250 V วิ่งที่ความเร็วเดิม แล้ว ก็ ปิด Turbo Core ไป



ไฟโรงงานของตัว Rev.C3 1.365V แต่ ไฟโรงงานของตัวที่ผมได้มานี้ 1.400V ครับ คิดว่าน่าจะเป็นเพราะมันมี Turbo core มาด้วย ก็เลย ลองเล่น Clock เดิม แต่ลดไฟลงมา 1.250 v





เดี๋ยวค่อยจัดหนักอีกทีครับ กับ CPU ตัวนี้ ...ได้ผลแล้วจะมารายงานครับ

อยากได้บ้างอ่ะ CPU Tray เนี่ยผมชอบนะ ถ้าไม่เน้นลากแบบบ้าพลัง เน้นแบบลากไประดับนึงแบบไฟต่ำๆดีกว่าซีพียูกล่องขายปลีกเยอะมาก

ถ้าเปิดหัว 9X0T เป็นหกหัว ที่ผมเคยอ่านเจอต้องบอร์ดที่เป็น SB850 หรือ SB750 จะดีกว่า ไปเจอพวก SB950 เปิดหัวไม่ค่อยเก่ง เพราะคนทำไบออสเค้าไม่ได้ออกแบบมาเน้นเปิดหัวมาก

แต่เห็น 970T ตัวนี้แล้วอยากได้มั๊กๆเลยอ่ะ EPMW ด้วย ซีพียู AMD ถ้าเป็น *PMW และ PCB "T" ส่วนมากแล้วลากโหดไม่ได้ แต่ลากใช้งานได้ดีแล้วไม่ต้องใส่ไฟสูงมากเกินไปด้วยอ่ะ

โอ้ว จดๆได้ความรู้เลยครับ ถึงว่า มาเล่น กับ บอร์ด SB950 มีอาการเอ๋อๆ ตั้งแต่เปิดเครื่องเลย ... ไฟที่เขียนติด บนกระดอง นั้น เขาลองแล้วบอกว่า วิ่งได้ 4.2 กับไฟตรงนั้น เสียดายผมไม่มี ซิงค์ดีๆเลยตอนนี้ เพราะกำลังสั่งชุดน้ำไป

AMD Phenom II X4 970 BE with unlockable cores

In August of this year, Xbit labs published a story hinting at two variations of AMD Phenom II X4 970 microprocessors: Deneb-based boxed version with C3 core stepping, and Thuban-based OEM version with two cores disabled. On September 21st AMD launched boxed version of the 970 microprocessor with Deneb core, but up to this moment there were no traces of the second, Zosma-based, Phenom II 970. Recently we acquired and tested an OEM version of Phenom II X4 model, which is based on Zosma core.
Quad-core Phenom II X4 970 is the fastest from all AMD Phenom II models. The boxed version of this microprocessor is based on C3 revision of Deneb core, which packs 4 CPU cores on a die, along with DDR3/DDR3 memory controller and 6 MB L3 cache. The 970 operates at 3.5 GHz, and, being a Black Edition version, can be effortlessly overclocked to achieve even greater performance. The CPU supports the same common set of technologies as all other Athlon II and Phenom II CPUs, including AMD64, Enhanced Virus Protection, and Virtualization features. The Phenom II X4 970 processor is compatible with Socket AM3 motherboards, and it's supported by some socket AM2+ boards as well. The processor has HDZ970FBK4DGM OEM part number, and HDZ970FBGMBOX box part number.
Zosma-based Phenom II X4 970 with E0 core revision utilizes Thuban (six-core) design, but disables two CPU cores. The microprocessor has HDZ970FBK4DGR part number. Like the HDZ970FBK4DGM, the 970 with E0 core stepping can be overclocked by adjusting the clock multiplier in BIOS. Other features of both 970 microprocessors are indistinguishable. Both processors have identical performance, as can be seen on the "970 (rev C3) vs 970 (rev E0)" comparison page in the "Performance" comparison tab. While standard features and performance of two processors are alike, there are two areas where the Zosma-based Phenom II 970 will excel.
Core unlocking. As we mentioned above, Zosma-based Phenom II X4 970 has six cores on a die with two cores disabled. On some processors these cores can be unlocked by using Advanced clock calibration (ACC) or similar BIOS feature. Doing that on our sample was as easy as setting ACC feature to "Auto". Our part passed all tests without a hiccup, albeit in some single-threaded tests it was 1% - 2% slower then the locked version.

Overclocking. We had very limited success overclocking our Phenom II X4 970 with C3 core stepping. With stock cooler and default core voltage, the processor failed to pass some tests at 3.8 GHz, and we had to lower frequency to 3.7 GHz. Only then the 970 could complete all benchmarks. Very disappointing... We had much more encouraging experience with the Zosma-based 970. Tested on same motherboard and under the same conditions (stock fan/heatsink and default voltage), the HDZ970FBK4DGR could be easily overclocked to 4.1 GHz, without failing a single benchmark. Our attempt to increase frequency to 4.2 GHz was not successful, as the system failed to boot into Windows XP. It's impossible to judge all 970 CPUs with Zosma core based on one sample, but there is a hope that these CPUs may overclock better than Deneb-based Phenom IIs.


While we have Phenom 970 with E0 core stepping on hand, we don't know if this model is currently shipped in OEM computers or not. One of OEM desktop PCs, that may include this processor, is HP HPE400z series. The HPE400z system can be customized to include Phenom II X4 970. Also, 4 out 7 processors, offered with this PC, are OEM-only models: Phenom II X4 830, 840T, 960T, and X6 1045T, and it's possible that the 970 CPU in this PC is also an OEM-only Zosma-based model.
