*NOTE: Many games install different VC libraries. There are service packs and security updates for just about all of them. After installing -any- VC with a game or app, you need to go to windows update and get any and all updates for the version of VC you just installed. Failure to install the updates and security patches will leave your your computer exposed to threats....
If you dont want to install Win7 SP1, simply "hide" that update.. then you dont have to worry about it and can continue to get all your needed security patches and updates. Running your Win7 install without the updated and current patches-- is much worse for your computer than installing SP1
